STAGE I. Once per day, Damon can cause a target to experience minor illusions for up to five minutes. Minor illusions include slight alterations in perceived physical appearances or minor visual aberrations. Damon must be within arm’s reach of his target and he cannot change a target’s perception of self. He experiences an intensifying headache for the duration of the time the illusion is maintained — the longer he causes his target to see the illusion, the stronger the headache will become. Illusions held for the full five minutes can cause some mild nausea.

STAGE II. Once per day, Damon can cause a target to experience moderate illusions for up to five minutes. Moderate illusions include altering the perception of already present elements and small creations. He can create minor illusions for two targets for up to five minutes, or a single target for up to ten. Minor illusions no longer give him headaches, but moderate illusions cause significant discomfort the longer they’re maintained. If maintained for the full five minutes, creating moderate illusions can cause significant severe nausea. Vision spotting persists for minor illusions; moderate illusions cause significant temporary disturbances or blind spots.

STAGE III. Once per day, Damon can create elaborate illusions for a single target. Elaborate illusions include creating intricate visions out of nothing and affecting the target's perceptions of self. Illusions can be as fantastic or mundane as he likes. Twice per day, he can create moderate illusions for two targets for five minutes or a single target for ten. Three times per day, Damon can create minor illusions for up to three targets for ten minutes, or a single target for fifteen minutes. Minor illusions cause mild visual spotting; moderate illusions create significant blind spots but no headaches or nausea; major illusions create severe headaches/nausea and temporary blindness equal to the length of time he maintained the elaborate illusion for the target.

BROOD PERMISSIONS

Volatile should be Damon's middle name, but somehow his father didn't foresee his oldest son being a crazy impulsive vampire in love with his brother's girl and instead passed on his own name. Ew. In terms of biographical information, that is what will come most easily: he has a brother, his brother has a girl, that girl is the love of Damon's life. He'll try to keep the second part on lock, but it'll bleed over everything. Everyone prepare to fall a little in love with Elena Gilbert, sorry not sorry she's the best.

He is always hungry. No matter how recently he's eaten, be it blood or food, he is hungry. That is the one thing he actually has under control: no one is in any danger of him snapping and eating them for no reason (the reason he comes up with may be bullshit, but there will be a reason). Even in a room full of humans with bleeding wounds, Damon can think straight. It's more than a lot of his kind can claim.

He's older than he looks but younger than he'd have you believe. More often than not he is just barely holding himself back from some stupid, impulsive, violent move. Up until recently he didn't even bother holding himself back, and the transition from not giving a shit to wanting to be on the side of the good guys has been A Struggle. When he drinks he always leaves a seat open for someone.

He is inferior in every way, a disappointment, unworthy—he is a monster and a villain and he likes himself this way.

He's from a small town in Virginia, with plenty of connections there. The only ones who stand out are his brother and his brother's girlfriend—she's here, and part of his head is dedicated to her at all times, though what goes through it is hard for anyone but his broodmates to catch. He's cool and in control at all times, except when he's not. He's done terrible things; he's done wonderful things. Up to you which to focus on. You are not welcome here, and he will cut you off everywhere you turn inside his mind as soon as he learns how.

He's angry, he's afraid, he's in love, he's miserable. None of these emotions can be connected to any one thing.

Physical Affection: He'll push you away if your name isn't Elena Gilbert, but you're welcome to try! Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll let it happen for two seconds before he stops you.
Physical Violence: Feel free! Anything short of broken bones you can just go ahead and throw at him, I won't mind, but any broken bones or worse I'd prefer we plotted out! Damon's a bit of a powerhouse, as he has super speed and strength from being a vampire, but he has no actual training in how to fight, so while he has an edge in any PVP encounters, anyone cunning enough to use his abilities against him could still kick his ass.
Romance/Relationships: Damon is head over heels in unrequited love with Elena Gilbert—but that unrequited part means he's never had a problem sleeping with other people. He's less likely to do that right now, but anyone he likes enough could talk him into it. Love is not in the cards, but a tumble might be!
